What it does
- Catches rm -r / -f / -rf, git reset --hard, git checkout -- . and git restore ., git clean, git push --force (and its variants), and common database migration commands.
- For each, it measures what would be affected: files to be deleted with count and size, files with uncommitted changes, untracked paths, remote commits a force push would drop, or pending migrations.
- Proceed runs the command; Cancel refuses it and tells Claude why. Every other command runs as normal.
- On narrow terminals the report is drawn above the prompt instead of in a pane.
How to get it
- Clone anthropics/claude-code-playground and run Claude Code with --plugin-dir pointed at claude-code/mods/blast-radius.
- Or add the clone's claude-code/mods folder as a marketplace and install it.
What you can learn from its code
If you are writing your own mod, this one is a good example of:
- Holding a tool.call until the user decides
- Returning a deny with a reason
- Running measurements with $.process.run
