What it does
- Rings show how full the context is, how much of the 5-hour and weekly plan limits you've used, and roughly when the prompt cache expires.
- When context passes 400k tokens it offers Clear, Compact or Later.
Requirements
- The author says it works in the terminal and the Desktop app.
- With an API key instead of a plan, the 5-hour and weekly rings aren't shown.
Good to know
- The cache countdown is an estimate from typical cache lifetimes, not a reading from the server.
- Clear and Compact act on your session; they are not display-only.
How to get it
- Install from Vosssa/claude-usage-band following its README.
